On Point Nail Polish Trends

The French manicure has always been a staple trend that’s been followed by every woman. With added elements, this type of nail trend works perfectly for girls and women alike. If you thought that a French manicure was as simple as a boring base coat and white tips, think again. Over the years, the basic French manicure has evolved to include different types of nail polish trends without losing its intrinsic character. This type of nail trend has retained its popularity because it is simple yet stylish and it compliments any outfit. It does not look out of place whether you are dressed in casuals through the day or your LBD at night. There is no worry about the colors clashing with your outfits. The following are the different options of a French manicure which can be done.

Rounded vs Square
While the original classic French manicure has square tips the current trend mimics the same concept but with rounded and pointed tips. The square shape is still trendy but you can opt for something new. French manicure can also be done on shorter nails.

Asymmetric
The nail tips used to have a perfectly natural looking border delineating the base color and the tip. Stylists now offer different types of nail polish trend options of a curved white section mimicking curved nails or even asymmetrical white tips that are carved in different shapes.

Double-edged french manicure or French moon manicure
While the traditional French manicure had the nail tips colored lighter, the 2020 version has both the nail ends in a lighter color. We all remember the advice that the cuticles should be pushed or trimmed back enough to see the half-moon shaped lunula at the nail base. Well, now just create the same effect with nail polish or line the entire bottom edge of the nail. You could even experiment with decorative shapes at the lower edge.

Non-neutral French Manicure
This season experiment with different nail polish trends. Pair a neutral nail with eye-popping colors to get a look that is absolutely eye catching. The trend is to use creams and brown shades on the actual nail. This is then paired with a bright color on the nail edges. Pinks and creams are the most favored edge colors right now but you wouldn’t be out of place with any color, even black! You could even use a different color for the lower border along the cuticle. Or go to town with striped borders akin to a section of the rainbow. There are absolutely no rules about matching the type of nail polish in different types of nail polish trends. You can choose between shimmer, glitter, and matte nail polishes only to enhance the look. Metallic nail polish on the tips with a very simple base coat looks artistic and chic.

Slimmer French manicure
The traditional French manicure traditionally followed the natural nail coloring pattern of the nail. The slim trend does not color block the entire top of the nail. It is now a slim top line against a larger space for the main nail color.

Bejeweled French Tips
The embellishment trend in the nail industry has now influenced the French manicure as well. Try a simple base coat and then apply your selection of embellishments (stickers or blingy stones) to the French tips. For a simple and sassy look, keep the tips a classic white and decorate the base nail section.
